Christmas Extravaganza!

Charlie’s first Christmas was a memorable one. This year we spent the Sunday before Christmas with the Dobry clan, Christmas Eve with Horner family and Christmas Day with the Newsham family. (We missed the Dluzen family because we switch years in an attempt to spend equal time with all of our families, although I missed the polish sausage and desserts. Next year!) It was a busy week and Charlie was exhausted by the end, but it was nice to spend quality time with our families.

Charlie received lots of presents this year (shocking, I know) and has lots of new toys to choose from during play time. His present on Christmas morning from Santa was a Spider-Man ball pit. I am still not sure who likes it more; Matt or Charlie, but they are both getting lots of use from it. There are additional photos from the extravaganza in the photo gallery.

Santa Baby

Tonight we visited Santa at the Macy’s on State Street. We waited in line for 30 minutes and Charlie was very patient. He enjoyed watching all the other children and looking at the beautiful decorations. When it was finally our turn we handed him over to Santa and Charlie was all smiles. He stared at Santa in disbelief, “Is this really be him?” and then looked back at us and smiled.  Charlie was a good boy and it was a wonderful night. There are additional photos in the photo gallery.

Standing Tall

Charlie is learning new tricks weekly. His latest is a vast array of climbing techniques. He loves his monkey toy and he is very good at pulling himself up on it. He grabs onto furniture, toys, anything he deems as stable and can easily pull himself up to a kneeling position and at times he can even stand up. There are more pictures in the photo gallery.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Charlie celebrated his first Thanksgiving at my parent’s house this year, but unfortunately he woke up with a cold and was not quite himself all day. We served him pureed turkey, but he did not seem to like it. Based on his facial expression, we may as well have served him a lemon!

This holiday weekend was bittersweet for the Dobry family; we lost Grandpa Newsham on Friday night. Charlie attended the wake and got to say goodbye to Great Grandpa Newsham. He will be deeply missed by all of us, but we will share his stories with Charlie and great grandpa will live on in his heart.

Independent Boy

He is such a big boy! Now, Charlie can hold his own bottle and feed himself. I still try to keep one hand on the bottle because he loves to throw it and soak the house in formula.
