Sitting up!

Not only is Charlie rolling now, but last Wednesday he sat up for the first time. He has been trying to get upright for months and while sitting in his chair he pulled himself up. Another milestone reached in his young life!

He is sitting up for longer periods of time before toppling over and he is doing well sitting with support. The picture below is on a couch in the Macy’s shoe department.

Take your son to work day

Charlie visited Matt's office for the first time today. His favorite part of the visit...his office chair!

Playtime

Now that Charlie is getting older there is so much more to do. He loves to swing at the park. I actually think that he likes to look at the other little kids playing more than he likes the swings, but it is a good way to spend 30 minutes of the day. Nothing makes me happier then to hear him laugh and smile. Matt took the picture below last Saturday.

Bon Apetit!

This has been a big week in Charlie's life, he is eating solid foods!

First, he tried sweet potatoes and pears were and they seemed to be a hit. After the pears, I decided to try green vegetables. I have never seen him open his mouth so wide (see picture below).  Unfortunately, he developed a rash on day 2 of green beans, so we had to take a step back and we will re-introduce them at a later date. In the meantime, his future menu will include carrots, apples, and peas.

Charlie never misses a meal, which is evident by his size and the fact that he is already wearing 9-12 month clothes, so I think he is going to enjoy the new foods in the weeks to come.

6 month check-up

Charlie’s 6 month check-up went well. He is a happy and healthy 6 month old baby!

When the doctor walked in and looked at Charlie lying on the table in just his diaper she said, “wow, he is very long". And yes, he is long! He measured 28 1/4 inches long, over 95th percentile and now weighs 18 pound and 10 ounces, 75th percentile. His examination went well and he is a healthy boy, aside from his first lingering cold.
