Big Kid - Big School

Today we registered Charlie for the "big school" as it is referred to in our house. He is officially a big kid and will be attending Oscar Mayer's preschool starting September 3rd. It's hard to believe that he will be in a school with kids preschool - 8th grade, when did he get so big?

There's More Than Corn in Indiana

Last weekend we traveled to Shaffer Lake for the annual Newsham family reunion. Charlie last visited Indiana Beach when he was three months old so this time it was going to be a completely different experience. He is a daredevil and we knew he was going to love the rides and we were not wrong. He rode the bumper cars with daddy multiple times, splashed on the log ride, and rode the dragon 6 times. Unfortunately it is hard to take pictures of Charlie on the rides because they move so fast, but Charlie has some great memories of the weekend spent with Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Patrick.

As Long As I Have My Suit and Tie...

I have been cleaning out Charlie's closet to make room for his summer wardrobe because I am sure summer will arrive one day soon. I found a suit in his closet that he has never worn, but I know my mom bought it on clearance a long time ago "just in case" he needed it. Although he never needed it, he was very excited to put it on and "go to work". It's a little small on him, but since I found it he has not gone one day without wearing it. He loves being like daddy and going to work.

Going to see the baseball team...

We took Charlie to see his third Cubs game at Wrigley Field.  This was the first game he was going to attend and likely have some understanding about what was going on and even possibly watch the game. There was a very long rain delay which allowed us time to eat all of the delicious ball park food. Once the game finally started it was late, so we watched one inning before heading home. What we failed to realize was that he thought he was going to play baseball not just watch other people play - something we will discuss before venturing to Wrigley again.
