Evy's Camp

Today, both kids went to camp! Charlie was not thrilled to have to wake up early, but I am sure spending the morning with his best friend Jack will make waking up worth while. Evy was thrilled to go to camp and even more excited when she found out she has her own locker!

Ballet Class

Evy has been waiting "to ballet" for weeks and today was her first class because she was sick last week. She loved her class and she cannot wait to go back!

Strawberry Fields Forever

Charlie has always gotten out of school too late for strawberry picking, but not this year! We packed up and picked up Pops and headed out to Huntley for strawberries. We made it just before a downpour and the kids had a blast digging through the plants for the perfect strawberry.

Night Swim

After a busy day filled with activities that are no fun for kids (we had people working on our house all day) I decided to take the kids out for a night swim. We grabbed dinner on the way and went to Centennial pool, which is a great place. They have 3 different pool areas including a kids area and water slides. The kids loved it. Charlie decided to tackle the high dive and after his initial jump - he took 5 more! Summer nights are the best!

(at least they are both smiling...)

Water Day!

First day enjoying one of the water parks in Park Ridge. I don't think we will have any problems using our pool pass this year! Bring on the heat!

The Last Day of First Grade

Charlie is officially a second grader! How did this happen?

After a long year (selling our house, moving, driving back and forth from the suburbs to the City, living in an apartment on the weekends and weekdays and Nana and Pop's house) he made it and he did amazingly well. His first grade teacher, Mrs. Chalberg, was amazing and had much to do with his success. She helped him through tough days and recognized him on good days. He developed a love of math and continued reading at a higher level than anyone in his class. He was chosen to be gym leader more than any of his other classmates and his gym teacher even called me this year to tell me that he is a great leader. He also found a new love for basketball, loved going to Cub Scout events and signed up for baseball this summer. Charlie proved to us once again, he can handle just about anything and he can do it with grace. We are so proud of him and all of his accomplishments this year!
