Christmas Morning 2016

The kids slept in this year - until 8:30 before realizing it was Christmas morning and there were presents waiting for them! Once they finally got up, we headed downstairs to see what Santa had left. Since we are semi-homeless Santa brought all of the gifts to Nana and Pop's house, per Charlie's request. Despite things being a little chaotic this year, the kids still had a wonderful Christmas and were very happy with everything Santa brought - especially the Kindle Fires aka Ipad's.

Charlie's First Holiday Sing

Today, Charlie had his first concert at Field, the annual Holiday Sing. When Charlie first learned about his concert he came home and told us that he wanted to be fancy and he put nana on the task of suiting him up, which she did well! We had the two best-dressed kids in the school today! The videos of Charlie's songs are below and too cute to miss!

(These two are the cutest!)

A Date with Olaf

This little girl does not like to take pictures. To get her to pose, I usually need to bribe her or make her think I don't want a picture in which case she is happy to oblige. Today, she sees Olaf and instantly sits down and smiles for a picture!

Christmas Weekend #1 and City Living

We started out our weekend of family Christmas fun by hanging out in the apartment and making a rocket ship, of course! What better use of a beer box!

(Charlie is showing her the ropes)

(These two finally asleep, the look so cute and quiet!)

On Saturday it was time for the first family party of the weekend. We made our way to Jody's house for the Horner Ho-Down. The kids were spoiled (as usual) but had a fun time playing with their cousins. While the kids were tearing open their presents, Charlie waited until he made sure he had everyone of his presents before diving in!

(Waiting for all the presents)

(Evy did not wait a second!)

Sunday morning it was off to grandma and grandpa's house for nap before the Dobry Christmas party, which included a visit from Santa! Evy asked Santa where her Ella was (again) and we had to tell her she had to wait one more weekend. How confusing for a three year old!

Cub Scout Charlie

Cub Scout Charlie sure looks handsome in his uniform! He joined cubs scouts this year and tonight he earned his bobcat badge for memorizing the boy scout oath. (He will be happy to recite it at any time). The first video is Charlie's pack reciting the oath and the second is his pack singing "Santa Claus is Coming To Town".

Gingerbread Artist

Charlie's latest art class masterpiece is beautiful! He worked hard on his watercolor gingerbread house.

Field Trip Selfie

Today, I chaperoned Charlie's first field trip this year. We took the bus to the Apollo theater (which is blocks from our old house) to see the Junie B Jones Christmas play. Although it was the first field trip for most of his classmates, Charlie is an old pro. The kids did great and they loved the show and other than the bus hitting a viaduct because there was not enough clearance the day was went smoothly. The best part for me, was Charlie falling asleep on my lap on the way home.

Meeting Santa at Macy's 2016

It was too cold to do just about anything, so we headed over to meet Santa at Macy's. We were not prepared with cute Christmas outfits, but the kids did not care one bit. They were both very excited to meet Santa. When he asked them what they wanted for Christmas Charlie requested, "a real puppy" and Evy asked for a "new Ella". Once Santa explained to Charlie that he was unlikely to get a puppy this year (which I am sure he figured out quickly from my expression) Evy tapped him on the leg and asked him where she could find her Ella. Evy was under the impression that she would get her gift right then and there. Two kids walked out of Macy's very confused, but at least there is a good picture!

Charlie in a Snowglobe

It was a cold and snowy weekend, it was almost like living in a snow globe!

Evy Cuteness

I am not sure if this girl can get any cuter, but I think I say that everyday!

Mini-Picassos

The kids worked very hard tonight painting ornaments for the outdoor Christmas tree. Santa and his little helper did a great job!
