Apple Picking with Pops

Our week of fun (last week before going back to school) kicked off with apple picking! Charlie has always wanted to pick apples and the last few times I have tried to arrange it the orchards were already out of apples -- but not this year! We picked up Pops and headed to the country (otherwise known as Huntley) and picked apples. The kids probably consumed there weight in apples and we managed to stuff three bags full to bring home.

Loop Time

We went downtown to explore and have lunch with Matt today. As soon as we parked, Charlie suggested that we walk around take pictures in front of "cool things" and draw pictures of the "cool things" so that is what we did until lunch. Our morning was filled with lots of stops and great pictures.

Evy's Day Out

Evy and I spent the whole day together because Charlie was at camp. We started our day with breakfast at Starbucks. Evy entertained me the entire time! Then we went to the zoo and the farm at the zoo. Evy loved seeing the zebras and monkeys, but I think her favorite part was petting the bunny and goat.

Movie Day

It was a dreary and cold day so what better way to spend the morning than seeing a movie -- The Minions! I was not sure if Evy was going to make it through the movie, but she did because I was prepared with lots of popcorn!

This is Charlie's newst friend and invention -- Big Guy. He's stuffed with pillows and dressed in Daddy's clothes. He's the new bed time requirement! 

Kids Day at Wrigley

Today I took Charlie to a Cubs game. It was Kids Day at Wrigley and luckily we knew someone who could get us tickets! Charlie lasted all 9 innings, while filling up on hot dogs, fries, lemonade, and ice cream and a new Cubs hat. He was a happy kid! After the game we were even got to go on the field for a picutre, although Charlie was bummed he couldn't run the bases. To make it up to him, we took the el home and he was thrilled. It was a great day with my baby!

Daddy-Son Golf Adventure

Matt came home from work early today to take Charlie out for a round of golf, his first since Arizona. This was his first nine hole round EVER and he completed all 9 holes! After dinner the boys celebrated with BBQ because that's what you do after you golf. Charlie was so happy to spend the evening with daddy and practicing his golf swing!
