Charlie's Poem
On the way home from school today Charlie told me that he had written a poem for Evy. He recited it as we walked to Starbucks to celebrate the weekend, I only wish I recorded it! When we got home he found his poem and read it on video this time. This version is slightly different than the first, but no less adorable.

Pete's Pizza
Evy finally made her inaugural trip to Pete's Pizza! The third generation of Horner's to eat at this fine establishment!

Evy Studying
Evy loves books and you can often find her laying down on the bean bag chair or sitting at the kids table flipping the pages. I think we have a future reader on our hands.

Sleeping Beauties
Charlie always falls alseep in the strangest positions and it always looks like he was playing and passed out. Evy is starting to follow in her brother's footsteps.

Doggie Love
Could these two be any cuter? They both love the matching dogs they got for Christmas. We are officially at the point where we have to get two of everything, which is fine as long as they both stay this happy!

Our Last Night at Aruba
We spent our last night at Aruba, the restaurant in town that is on the beach. It has great views of the ocean and I consider any meal fantastic when you can eat outside while listening to the sounds of the waves. We had another great vacation in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and we cannot wait for the next trip!

Great Times in Lauderdale
These are the pictures that do not fit into a certain post category, but they are too great to not share. Despite Evy spending the first few days sick, we all had a great time on vacation. Our children are amazing travelers which bodes well for mom and dad!

An Afternoon on the Pier
After Matt returned from a round of golf, we walked down to the Pier to have lunch on the beach. It was a hot day (as you can see in the pictures), but none of us were complaining. We even had a visitor -- Aunt Jody happened to be in Ft. Lauderdale at the same time so she joined us.

Benihana Table for 4
We made our 2nd annual stop at the Benihana. Although it's not a typical kids restaurant, our kids' love it. Charlie has spent the past year talking about the chef flipping shrimp into his hat. This year did not disappoint. When we sat down Charlie immediately tucked his napkin into his pants and put his chef hat on and announced to the table that he was our chef. Throughout the meal Charlie was mesmerized and the chef even caught Evy's attention when she would take a break from the corn on her plate. Charlie left with a new found love of shrimp (I think he ate at least 2 pounds) and Evy left with a full belly of corn and steak. Another great night of vacation.

It's Beach Time!
We didn't spend quite as much time at the beach as often we normally would because it was not a great place for Evy. She liked to eat sand and really wanted to pet the Seagulls, which is never a good idea. Needless to say, we still made it a few times.

Adventure Beyond Lauderdale
We went on an adventure and left the confines of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. We went to the Sawgrass outlet mall (it's amazing and huge) to do a little shopping and visit the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. The entire dinner was a bit crazy because Evy was not in a good place, but we did get this cute picture of Charlie before we ate. We also managed to find a small carousal, which was the other highlight of the evening for the kids.
