Future Mortgage Broker

I had some of our mortgage documents out for Matt to take to work and while I was getting ready Charlie found them. I heard him talking to himself and when I went to check on him I found him with all of the documents spread out neatly around him. I asked him what he was doing and he said, "don't worry mommy. I am just reading them". Why didn't I assume that he was reading them and not destroying them?
