Teacher Love

Charlie has been working very hard on Xtra Math this year. It is an app that helps him practice addition and subtraction problems. He flew through addition, but subtraction has been harder for him. He keeps practicing and this week he jumped 20 points (you have to get to 100 and he is now at 79) and drastically improved his accuracy. His teacher sent this very nice email today to encourage him, she is a great teacher and we are so happy that Charlie has her this year.

Dear Charlie,

I'm so proud of you!  I know that mathematicians can get frustrated when math problems stump them. I know I get frustrated sometimes!  You're working hard when it's tough and that's the sign of a real math warrior.

"It's okay to not know something. It's not okay to not try!"-Kid President.
I just wanted to remind you of that.

I was so happy to see that you've been practicing subtraction and not giving up when it gets a little tough. Keep going!  You're doing wonderfully!  Before you know it, this subtraction stuff will be a piece of cake.

Way to go!  I am very proud!!
