The State of Vermont did not disappoint. There was cheese, maple syrup, chocolate, beaches and Ben & Jerry's.
We visited a maple syrup plant that has been operating for over 100 years and tried so much syrup, we ordered plenty. We visited Shelbourne farms, which produces delicious cheese on acres of gorgeous land. We stopped at Ben and Jerry's, toured the factory and tried more than one kind of ice cream. We also swam at North End beach on Lake Champlaign. This is a beautifully clean lake the the kids loved spending the morning swimming. We didn't know it, but it was the hottest day in the history of Burlington, Vermont so it was a perfect beach day!
The only low point of Vermont was when we couldn't fit under a bridge on the way to Shelbourne Farms - I never thought I would be in the middle of a road stopping traffic, but it happened and we all survived!
We also took a scenic drive through the Green Mountains, I am not sure the kids were very impressed but it was beautiful!
